Shooting Stars Birthday Cake

Had a lovely day today. Lots of cake orders this week so I wanted to plan to have some time with Dexter so that he was not watching every episode ever made of Ben Ten.

We went to the gym and had a work out, had lunch there, picked up his nanny and all went to the park.

So now that he is tucked up and fast asleep I can tell you about my latest cake.

Shooting Stars Birthday Cake

This cake was made for a 40th birthday celebration.

It is a two tiered cake covered with dark blue fondant and then overlaid with white hearts and stars.

I made a little fondant doughnut for the top of the cake to hide the base of the wires.

Fondant hearts and stars shoot out of the top of the cake.

I used my funky letter cutters to cut out the greeting for the board.

The contrast between the dark blue fondant and the white overlaid stars and hearts looks really striking.

Hi Amanda, love the website and your cakes are fabulous, i love this one in particular. You mention delivery in the UK, is that included in the price of your cakes or separate, and is it courier? Can’t imagine how these fantastic cakes are transported without them being damaged!

thanks for the compliment. The delivery cost is dependent on the distance and cake order.

I have not yet found a courier whoc will guarantee safe delivery of cakes and wedding cakes usually require some assembly in situ so I deliver them.

Hi! I’m new to this site. That’s a beautiful cake by the way, but I just have 2 questions: do you deliver nationwide? what are those wires made out of?

Hi Jan, yes I do deliver nationwide. They are actucally wires. They do not go directly into the cake.

A little plastic tube is inserted into the cake and then the wires are pushed inside this tube which prevents them touching the cake.

I am having my 21st birthday party in September and love this cake! Would like to know cost of it and if possible to replace the dark blue icing with bright pink and white stars? I live in Brentwood so would be able to collect. Also how many does it serve?
