Purple Ribbon Wedding Cake

Hello again. Well it has been a long time since I have done a post here so I now have about 10 cakes to get onto my website. So here goes with the first one.

This a three tiered wedding cake which is understated in its design. My clients wanted something simple without lots of embellishments on it.

They had their colour scheme sorted and wanted to incorporate this in the design of the cake.

Each tier has a ribbon around the base of and I suggested that each ribbon could get progressively narrower on each smaller tier.

The ribbons are then finished with a lilac bow which just adds a little variety and teams with the colours of the top floral display which was created by The Orchid Room.

The cake is decorated with randomly placed edible jewels which add a bit of sparkle to the cake without being over the top and too blingy.

Blingy is great if you want it but not if you are aiming for understated.

My client had some purple and lilac petals and asked that they be scattered around the cake table.

The overall look of the cake was romantic and contemporary.
