Paisley Wedding Cake

This cake was made for a wedding celebration at Gosfield Hall.
My clients had a clear idea of what they wanted. They are both very creative and had designed a cake.

The cake consisted of 3 heart shaped tiers, one fruit, one chocolate and one lemon.
Each tier was covered with marzipan and ivory fondant icing.
I assembled the tiers before putting the paisley shapes down the side of the cake.

Carrying it down the long corridor to the cake table was a good workout for my biceps.
I added paisley shapes increasing in size as they went down the sides of the cake.
The shapes were a combination of gold, rich ivory and orange.
I added piping details and tiny blossoms on the paisley shapes.
The cake was displayed at the bottom of a very grand stairwell and looked stunning.
My clients had their own topper which they had sprayed and it looked great.

I love the shape of this cake and the curve of the lines.
It was a lovely bright and fresh looking cake.
