Mini Pink Birthday Cakes

Picture of 50th Birthday cake

These cakes were made as an alternative birthday cake. My client was having a small party with a few friends and wanted 15 mini cakes but did not want cupcakes.

These cakes are each covered with marzipan and fondant icing. The cakes are vanilla sponge with raspberry cream filling. I baked a large cake and then used round cutters to cut 15 small cakes.

Once covered with marzipan the cakes were covered with rich ivory fondant which was wrapped around the cake to resemble a bunch of flowers wrapped in paper.

I then made fondant flowers in white and shades of pink and applied them to the tops of the cakes while the fondant was still soft.

These cakes would be perfect for occasions such as mother’s day and Easter and would be great for a summer garden party.
