Gold and Chocolate Wedding Cake

This wedding cake was created using an embossing effect and chocolate cake covering.
The cake was two tiers of chocolate sponge cake with chocolate orange ganache filling.
I covered each tier with ivory fondant and while it was still soft used an embossing tool to create a textured pattern all over the cake. I left both tiers to harden a little before painting them with edible gold paint.

Once the paint was dry I could add the overlaid chocolate flowers.
I rolled out the chocolate covering and cut various different sized flowers out. I did not need to use any water to attach the flowers as the chocolate covering is naturally tacky which also makes it easy to remove and re position if necessary.
Once I had overlaid the cut out flowers I cut lots of little flowers using blossom cutters. I painted some gold and then added them around the cake.
