Volcano Birthday Cake
This birthday cake was made for a 6th birthday party. The recipient was mad about dinosaurs so I decided to make a volcano cake with dinosaurs around the bottom of it.

Chocolate Rose Birthday Cake
This birthday cake was chocolate on top of chocolate. The cake was rich gooey chocolate cake filled and covered with chocolate ganache.
The rose was made from rolled out chocolate paste. This paste rolls out just as fondant does but is a rich dark brown colour and contains cocoa solids. I rolled out thin sausage strips and curled them down the side of the cake. Chocolate Roses Birthday Cake
This chocolate birthday cake was covered with rich chocolate ganache and then covered with roses and blossom flowers in fondant icing.
I made the rose petals by rolling out balls of coloured fondant and then making them into tear drop shapes. Then I placed them inside a plastic bag and squashed them with my thumb.
