Get your Sugar Fix at Cake Central

I have just found a brilliant website for anyone who likes making, looking at or eating cakes. I like doing all three.

Where can I find this sugar fest I hear you ask. The website is called CakeCentral

There is so much to see on the site including galleries of cake pictures, forums, cake competitions, articles and recipes.

I can only think of one downside with the site. That is the addictive nature of it.

I sometimes log on to Cake Central with the intention of looking at a couple of cake pictures and a few forum posts and find myself still there 3 hours later which is just not on when I have three cakes to make.

The cake above was a practice cake made by Jenny Perello. As soon as I saw it I wanted to inlcude it here, it is just beautiful.

She is a member of Cake Central and has her own business in San Luis Obispo. Bet you’re thinking “where is San Luis Obsipo?” With my lack of geographical knowledge so did I.

Well it it is halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. According to the San Luis Obispo County website it has miles of white sandy beaches. If you have to work for a living, somewhere with miles coastline with sandy beaches would be a good place to do it.

Cake Central is, according to themselves “the worlds largest social network for cake decorators” I would say that with over 225,000 registered users that is an accurate statement.

I have been reluctant in the past to become a member of forums - not sure why. Maybe because I think I have enough to do as it is.

But I am converted, if you take some time to look around the site and find something on a forum that answers a question or that you think you can help with and you do this everyday you will become part of a network and community of like minded people.

I think this offers support, inspiration and tips & advice. With a potential 225,000 people offering their opinion you have to find something useful.
