About Amanda Macleod, leading UK Cake Designer

Amanda gained her creative flair through training and working for many years as a graphic designer.

She developed an interest in cake making and sugar craft after making a birthday cake for a family member. Her talent and passion grew from there, making celebration cakes for friends and family.

Amanda enrolled on a course at Brooklands College where she gained distinctions in Cake Decorating and Sugarcraft. The college is a centre for excellence in bakery, sugar craft and cake decorating.

Amanda decided to turn her passion into a profession and founded Venus Cakes in 2008.

Amanda has a passion for creating individual, stunning cakes and her attention to detail is what makes any cake created by Venus Cakes a work of art. Amanda will work attentively with her client to create the perfect cake for the individual and their celebration.

Amanda is a regular contributor to wedding cake and sugarcraft magazines and enters cakes in national sugarcraft competitions.
